Applications are now open for the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program, which offers full scholarships for online master’s degree programs starting in Fall 2025-26. The scholarships are available exclusively to citizens of countries on the African continent, with a deadline for applications of May 16, 2025.
The Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program is a unique opportunity in partnership with the American University of Beirut (AUB). This program is designed to prepare young people to become agents of change in their communities, countries, and regions. Scholars will participate in a series of workshops, courses, and fieldwork, in addition to completing the required courses for their chosen degree program.
The scholarship program is available for the following five online graduate programs:
Master’s in Engineering Management (Online)
Master’s in Computing in Education (Online)
Master’s in Business Administration (Online)
Master’s in Nursing Administration and Management (Online)
Executive Master in Healthcare Leadership (Online)
Each program may have additional admission requirements. Applicants are encouraged to review the specific program webpages for further details.
Eligibility and Selection Criteria
To be considered for the scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:
Good academic standing in their previous degree.
Talent that exceeds financial resources, demonstrating the need for support to pursue higher education.
A strong commitment to giving back to the community, country, and region.
Proven leadership skills.
Commitment to attending all workshops, learning experiences, and fieldwork required by the Scholars Program.
Applicants must be 35 years or younger at the time of application.
Demonstration of readiness for university studies in English (RUSE)Â by June 20, 2025.
Acceptable tests for RUSE include:
TOEFL IBT
IELTS (Academic)
GRE (Verbal)
GMAT (Verbal)
DUOLINGO English Test (DET)
How to Apply
Interested applicants should complete the following steps:
Submit the AUB online graduate application and upload all required documents by May 16, 2025.
Submit RUSE scores by June 20, 2025.

Submission of RUSE scores by the specified deadline.
